Novus: creating opportunities to change lives
For more than two decades, Novus has been delivering education, training and employment opportunities to adults and young people in UK prisons.
Over the years we have built a reputation as an innovator as we strive to reduce re-offending rates by transforming people’s lives through learning and skills. We now have a wide range of opportunities available in the London region and are looking for talented individuals to join our team.
Roles available include Business Administrators, Education Managers, Mentors, Cluster Managers and Vocational Trainers - who specialise in anything from cooking to hairdressing. As well as full-time roles, we also have part time and sessional opportunities available.
Novus offers valuable benefits for employees, in terms of facilities, resources, the breadth of the curriculum we provide and progression opportunities. However, we offer more than size and scope. We give a sense of belonging to an organisation that cares passionately about its values and its people, in an environment where they can make a genuine difference.
Pam Fricker has been Education Manager at HMP Onley for two years. Pam started her career as an aerobics instructor before moving to a career in further education. “After 24 years in FE I took the decision to enter offender learning – a decision I will never regret. As a teacher there is nothing better than seeing your learners achieve and make positive changes. Every day is a highlight!” Find out more about Pam’s career journey.
Functional Maths Tutor, Nigel Hooson, discovered a love for teaching when he was a driving instructor and so began his journey to become a teacher. He joined Novus eight months ago and hasn’t looked back. “I’ve loved my job since the interview. The staff are like family, the learners are great. I love finding a way to help them enjoy learning.” Find out more about Nigel's career journey.
Amanda Price started her career with Novus as an Administrator and is now a Peer Mentor Tutor. “My future goal is to work towards becoming an Advanced Practitioner. I am excited at the possibilities for the future.” Find out more about Amanda's career journey.
